Housemaster - Ben Sunderland

Ben teaches Mathematics across the whole School including IB and Further Mathematics at A-level. He has been the Contingent Commander of the CCF for the past two years and runs the Leadership and Teambuilding course for the Fifth Form on Brownsea Island. Latterly Ben has been a senior Tutor in Harper House. Where time allows, Ben enjoys the outdoors and is a qualified mountain biking instructor and a trained Mountain Leader. He also coaches a variety of sports including rugby, hockey and cricket. Ben's wife, Lisa teaches at Leweston Preparatory School. They have two young children.

Lyon House was purpose built almost 100 years ago, with spacious accommodation and wonderful grounds. A new extension with enhanced facilities for the sixth form opened in 2007 and in 2011 another major phase of work was completed providing the most up-to-date facilities. The House lies in a tranquil cul-de-sac near Sherborne Girls and less than 5 minutes' walk from the main site, adjacent to the School's playing fields.
