Duke of Edinburgh Award
Sherborne School participates in the DofE scheme, a nationally organised and very highly regarded programme of personal challenge and development.
The School offers the Award at Silver and Gold levels. Within each, candidates are required to complete four sections:
Skill, Volunteering, Physical and Expedition
The Silver Award takes a minimum of 12 months, and the Gold Award takes 18 months, at Gold boys must also undertake a Residential Project.
The range of options available in each Section is enormous, and it is the candidate’s own responsibility to organise a programme to suit his own needs and interests with the guidance and support of the School staff. Those undertaking the Silver Award can start after their fifteenth birthday.
