5. The Department at Work

At Sherborne School all pupils study Design & Technology in year nine (the third form) and those who show potential and aptitude opt to study the subject through to Advanced Level. The department runs Technology days for local prep schools and a club for the Gifted and Talented group from Abbey Primary. Sixth form students are encouraged to become involved in supporting these younger pupils. The department is fortunate to have a well resourced metal fabrication workshop, plastic forming process area, a full extracted wood workshop, a laser cutter room, design studio and its own ICT suite.
