Sherborne at the Edinburgh Fringe 2009

Following last year’s successful trip, Sherborne School again took a show to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this Summer. Neville’s Island by Tim Firth was performed for 7 nights, to very appreciative audiences, at C venues in the city centre. Directed by Theatre Manager Jim Donnelly, the cast included Luke MacKay (e), Hubert Mainwaring-Burton (g), Ed Dixon (f) , George Day (f), supported by a technical crew of Harry Latham (a) and Chris Findlay (a).

Shirburnian Economist Highly Commended in competition

Alex Chajecki (OS 2009, f), who left Sherborne in the summer, has been Highly Commended in the Royal Economics Society 2009 Young Economist of the Year competition, with an essay entitled ' ?’.  The competition attracted nearly 500 entries from 180 schools around the world.  A 'Highly Commended' award places Alex in the top 30 of entries.
