Sebastian Faulks films at Sherborne School

Last year Sherborne School had the pleasure of welcoming Sebastian Faulks and a BBC crew to film part of the series 'Faulks on Fiction' which is to be screened in four parts starting this Saturday 5th February on BBC2. Click here for BBC site.

Faulks says "To me, the only people who matter are the characters; the heroes, lovers, snobs and villains, people whose inner lives we get to know so well that they're more familiar to us than our own families and friends - so much so that it's in the power of their experiences that we see our own lives in a new light."

During the visit to Sherborne, Faulks filmed and took part in a classroom discussion on Lord of the Flies by William Golding, for the episode focusing on 'Villains'; At that time, Sherborne was also staging a performance of the play of which Sebastian Faulks watched excerpts and discussed the characters with the cast.
