Wind Band at the Millennium Centre Cardiff
The Wind Band was invited to perform in the Welsh Millennium Centre in Cardiff, and enjoyed playing Pirates of the Caribbean, Lord of the Rings, James Bond Themes and Chicago to an audience of over 500.

Strings Day at Sherborne
On Sunday 6th March a Strings Day organised on behalf of the European Strings Teachers’ Association (ESTA) was hosted at the school. 100 pupils from 20 local schools were involved in intensive coaching sessions led by Martin Smith (London Mozart Players and the Academy of St Martin’s-in-the-Fields) and Sarah Drury (Head of Strings at Sherborne). The repertoire for the afternoon included Vaughan Williams Concerto Grosso for Three Orchestras, giving ample scope for players of differing standards to come together for a concert in the BSR at 4.30 pm which was attended by a large number of parents.

Joint Schools' Symphony Orchestra at Sheldonian, Oxford
The joint schools’ Symphony Orchestra spent the weekend of 19 & 20 March in Oxford, rehearsing in the Sheldonian Theatre for a concert on Sunday afternoon at 4.30 pm and, amongst other sight-seeing trips, taking an open-top bus tour of the city and the university.

Diploma Recitals
Alistair Hughes (cello) and Jack Lewis (trombone) gave outstanding diploma recitals, accompanied by Jenny Coultas, on Friday evening. Commenting on the performances of both musicians, Director of Music James Henderson said: Sherborne is proud to have not one but two pupils taking their ALCM diplomas in April.
