South West Schools' Cross Country Championships

Having qualified in 6th and 7th places at the Dorset Schools' Cross Country Championships in mid-January, Harry Lane (L6b) and Tom Hole (U6b) ran in the next round on Saturday 4th February - the South West Schools' Championships. This was held at Exeter Arena, and having travelled through driving rain and falling snow over the Blackdown Hills, the cold, miserable conditions were neither a surprise nor a discomfit to hardened Cross Country runners.

Tom repeated his strong run of earlier in the season to finish 7th for Dorset again, while Harry, having run in county second place for much of the race finished a very creditable 4th for Dorset. It is very likely that both will be selected for the English Schools' race, which this year will take place at RNAS Merryfield, near Yeovilton, on Saturday 17th March. Both are worthy of congratulation at this stage.
