Sherborne boys represent England in U16 rugby

Sherborne School is proud to announce that three boys took the opportunity to represent their country at rugby over the Easter break.

 

Following trials during the Lent Term, Joe Bridger (c) gained selection for the England Independent Schools U18s, known as The Lambs XV.  After successful games against Crawshays Welsh U18s and Ireland Exiles U18s, Joe was part of the squad that toured Italy over the Easter holiday, where they defeated Lazio U19s (59 – 7) Castelli U20 (54 – 0) and then an Italy U20 select XV (12 – 5).

Will Homer (m) gained his full England U16 Cap after coming on as substitute in the 31 - 20 win against Italy U17s in Parma. In another match, he also started on the bench against Wales U16s at Wellington College and came on with 15 minutes remaining and helped England to a narrow 39 - 34 victory.

 

  Edward Coulson (m) was called up late due to squad injuries to represent the England second string side 'England South' who participated at the International Festival at Wellington College, where they defeated Scotland U16s 28 - 17, Canada U17s 14 - 10, but lost to a strong Wales U16A side 22 - 9.
