Busy summer for Sherborne's young actor

This summer James Allan (3m) is appearing in two productions for the Youth Music Theatre Company - 'Mort - The Musical 'at the Rose Theatre in Kingston and 'The Vortex' at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. We wish him all the very best for these productions. We are delighted that James has already given so much to School Drama and consider him a very exciting prospect for the future.

James arrived at Sherborne in September with an impressive professional CV in West End musical theatre. In his first term here he joined the cast of 'Grease' for the Main School musical where, despite his relative youth, his singing and dancing did not disappoint. James then auditioned for the Junior School Play 'Ajax Is Out There' and was cast in a leading role, again impressing audiences with his natural presence in the spotlight and his rich and accomplished singing voice. But most impressive of all, James was simultaneously playing a leading role in the Digby House Play 'Art'. This 3-hander demanded the highest standard of acting skill and James was wholly convincing playing a middle-aged man. It was an extraordinary achievement, particularly as the other two parts were played by experienced Sixth Form boys.
