AFTER SHERBORNE

95% of Shirburnians enter university.

Between 2008 and 2010 74% of Shirburnians entering UK universities joined 34 of the 37 research-intensive universities which belong to the Russell Group (mostly Oxford, Cambridge and the bigger and older urban universities) and the 1994 Group (which includes Durham, Exeter and St Andrews).

The remaining 26% entered a broad variety of institutions: medical schools, ancient and more recent Scottish universities (Aberdeen, Heriot-Watt), post-1992 English "new" universities, and smaller specialist institutions (e.g., Royal Agricultural College).

The universities which have taken more than 10 Shirburnians in the last 3 years are (in alphabetical order):

Birmingham
Bristol
Cardiff
Durham
Exeter
Leeds
Manchester
