Sport is an integral part of everyday life for many people whether it be taking part or through the media. At Sherborne it is the taking part that is integral to boys’ lives whether it is enjoying playing one of the multitude of sports with his peers or aspiring to and achieving the highest possible level they can. Boasting 27 full internationals and many international schoolboys it is clear that at Sherborne everything is possible.

An expectation that boys will always strive to do the best they can is essential across all aspect of School life and in sport it is no different. This is made a reality with the assistance of numerous exceptionally talented and committed sportsmen and women from the academic staff and the many professional coaches employed across the breadth of Sport on offer.

Facilities are always evolving to further contribute and facilitate the rigorous approach to sport. Recently a second astroturf pitch has been laid along with fourteen artificial cricket nets to complement the existing twelve grass nets we also have. Inside a new free weights facility allows for a more diverse and essential opportunity for conditioning.

Opportunities abound in sport at Sherborne whether it is the variety, the fixtures, tours or coaching but one overriding constant is that the boys are central to process. Each one is an individual who is treated as such and given a very real opportunity to develop during his time at Sherborne in whatever his preferred sport is and to whatever level he can achieve.
