TEACHER OF THEOLOGY required from September 2017

You will have a genuine enthusiasm for both the subject and for teaching and will be likely to take responsibility for a number of classes across the age and ability range of the pupils in the School.  All boys take Religious Studies GCSE and, therefore, Theology forms an important central component of the core curriculum in the lower school.  Religious Studies is also a popular subject at A Level and a number of pupils opt for 'long thin' Philosophy AS, which forms part of the Sixth Form enrichment programme.

ESTATES BURSAR required from July 2017

We are seeking to appoint an Estates Bursar to develop, manage and maintain its extensive and historic estate within an annual operating budget of £4m.  Building on the outstanding achievements of the retiring post holder, the successful candidate is likely to have extensive experience in the building/property industry including managing new build, refurbishment and direct labour.  Excellent communication and people management skills and the ability to build strong working relationships are essential.  Good humoured and patient, the post holder must be able to translate strategy into practical reality and to be empathetic towards the ethos and principles of the School.

Based in the historic market town of Sherborne, the Estates Bursar is a key member of the Bursar's management team.  He/she will fulfil a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of the School's new 5-year Strategic Plan which includes the construction of a new £12m sports hall.
