Located right at the heart of the School, Abbey House is proud of its reputation for warmth, hard work and good humour.

With easy access to the Music School, Sports Centre, Library and Dining Hall, Abbey House gives boys a real sense of being at the centre of the action. The House is characterised by the diverse gifts and talents of its residents: everyone’s achievements are deeply valued.

This culture is manifested in a variety of ways. Boys genuinely look out for each other, across year groups. The senior boys take their formal responsibilities towards junior pupils very seriously, and show concern in informal ways too: a kind word here, a few minutes of attention there. In Abbey House, the importance of such gestures is understood, and seen as an important feature of life together.

The philosophy of Abbey House is simple: be who you are, work hard and play hard. As a community, every member will celebrate who you are, as you celebrate who they are. Therein lies the path to mutual growth and flourishing.
