Basketball is a fast paced and extremely exciting sport. Although it is deemed a non-contact sport, it is certainly very physical and demands high standards of fitness.
The basketball club is growing in numbers and is becoming a popular option with the team playing to a very high standard in recent years. We meet once a week in the Michaelmas term for pre-season training, and boys can opt for basketball as their games option in the Lent term.
Coaching focuses on discipline in defence, fast transition through the court and organisation in offence.
The club play a full fixture list in the Lent term, and usually field U16 and U19 teams. Games are refereed by professional referees. In recent seasons we have played against competition including Marlborough, Winchester and Canford.
