Chapel and Abbey
As a Christian foundation, corporate worship is central to Sherborne’s life. The whole school meets twice a week in the Abbey – a historic place of worship in whose shadow we are lucky to live and work. These services provide a time to come together as a community and reflect prayerfully on all that we do, and all that we wish to be.
Every morning begins with an assembly or chapel service, giving boys the chance to root their daily lives in prayer. While we welcome boys of other faiths, and no faith, to the school, we hope these moments of calm will bring structure to their routine, and nurture their spirituality.
A voluntary candlelit Eucharist is held every Friday evening in the Chapel, and is always very well attended. In addition, boys are welcome to use the Abbey or Chapel for private devotions whenever they are able.
