Following the excellent A Level achievements announced last week, Sherborne Boys is proud to congratulate its Fifth Form on a fantastic set of GCSE results this summer. With 53% of all entries graded 9-7 (equivalent to A*/A), and 33% at grades 9–8, the boys have demonstrated impressive academic strength across the board. Notably, 1 in 7 of all grades were at the very highest level, grade 9.
Among the standout individual successes this year were Hugo S and Ian L, who both achieved straight grade 9s, and Ned S and Chun Lok C, who secured a combination of 9s and 8s across all of their subjects. In total, 10 boys achieved ten or more grades at 9–7 (about 11% of the year) – a clear reflection of both ability and determination.
Headmaster, Simon Heard, commented:
“These results are richly deserved, and I am very proud of the boys for their application and ambition. What makes their success all the more impressive is that it has been attained alongside such a wide range of other accomplishments - from sport and music to drama, community service, and leadership. My heartfelt thanks go to their teachers, families, and all those who have supported them along the way. I would also like to extend my congratulations to our colleagues and pupils at Sherborne Girls on their equally impressive outcomes this summer.”
As this cohort reflects on their successes, we look forward to welcoming them into the Sixth Form in September. They now embark upon the next stage of their academic journey, where they will benefit not only from the challenges and opportunities of A Level study, but also from the many possibilities offered through our unique partnership with Sherborne Girls.
