Alan Turing bike ride 2018

On a perfect September day, 74 cyclists set off in honour of Alan Turing’s 1926 ride to Sherborne.  Boys, parents, staff, family friends and local cyclists took on one of two challenges, “Enigma”, 31 miles and “Ultra”, which matches Turing’s 63 miles.  Passing through pretty Dorset villages,  thigh-crunching climbs and exhilarating descents, the riders passed the Crown Hotel in Blandford Forum, where Turing spent the night before heading over Bulbarrow to Sherborne.  Tired, sore and proud cyclists exchanged stories over a hearty meal in the School dining hall.  We look forward to a great turnout next year.
