A hearty thank you to members of the Sherborne community who attended the Music and Readings for Christmas last night in the School Chapel in aid of Crisis, together we will end homelessness. The Sherborne School Chamber Choir, directed by James Henderson and sympathetically accompanied on the organ by Daniel Baker, were in fine form performing carols both traditional and contemporary by Rutter, Poston, Howells, Pearsall, Cornelius and Stanford. There were exquisite Treble solos from the sublime opening of "Once in Royal David's City" performed by Hector Kennerley to superb  Bamber Mauleverer and Archie Beardsell in "I Wonder as I wander" building to magnificent baritone solos  by Nathanael Fagerson in "A Spotless Rose" and George Lewis in "The Three Kings". The enthusiastic audience joined in the hymns to raise the Chapel roof . Your generosity and support has raised £727.95 for the charity which will reserve 25 places for Crisis at Christmas. A very Happy Christmas and Seasons Greetings to you all.
