The annual Halliday Music Cup Competition took place on 26 February in the Tindall Recital Hall. The competition for singers, pianists and organists was won by Ian Liu Sch.Mus (3d) with his remarkable performance of Chopin's Ballade No.1, Op 23. The external adjudicator was hugely impressed by Ian's playing of this fiendishly difficult repertoire.
