The annual Halliday Music Cup Competition took place on 13 February in the Tindall Recital Hall. The adjudicator this year was Clare Toomer, an accompanist and vocal coach who, for several years, has been Head of Academic Music and of Keyboard at Marlborough College.

The adjudication was superb in so far as it contained elements of a masterclass, and the winners were as follows:

Overall Halliday Cup winner

Angus Williams (piano, organ, and singing)

Upper School piano

Winner: Angus Williams

Commended: Jack Pyman and William Miao

Upper School singing

Winners: Fabian Mercer and Freddie Thomas

Commended: Sam Berry, Jack Pyman and Angus Williams

Lower School piano

Winner: Byron Yang

Commended: Jack Arnold and Reuben Hobbs

Lower School singing

Winner: Hector Kennerley

Commended: Thomas Wood and Oscar Boswall

Organ

Winners: Angus Williams and Freddie Senior

The boys should be extremely proud of their exceptional performances.
